The programme was originally hosted by Andrew Rawnsley until he was replaced by Martyn Lewis. A book based on the programme, with the same title, was issued in 1995. The first series was won by Andy Whitworth and Tony Stevens, friends from The Foresters pub in Dartford, Kent. The prize for winning the series was a voucher for an aeroplane ticket around the World.
