Mrs. Harrington later seeks diversion in society, but the husband is engrossed in his work as a scientist, having a laboratory in his house. He conducts several experiments and is on the verge of success in his invention when an explosion of the chemicals occurs and it subsequently develops that he is blinded for life, his eyesight being permanently destroyed.
