Overview

Mary Hale hates her job in a department store, and when wealthy Gordon Kent comes around, she flirts with him and is fired. Because she is mad at her fiancé, William Norworth, Mary takes off in Kent's car and she doesn't come home until the early hours. Her father is furious and slaps her, so she leaves home.
