Compelled to exist, in spite of systemic violence, physical and spiritual warfare and their mental health. And forced to eat surreal winter watermelons — a metaphor for the media-fed narratives of war and genocide — their journey becomes a visceral protest against oppression from America to Palestine to Sudan.
